Elizabeth of the Trinity, The Charism of Her Prayer
Hi--I'm
just starting a book online by Elizabeth of the Trinity--she's on your
recommended reading list--it's short and I think would be helpful for
all of you--in the intro., it says "This book deals with mystic prayer
in its more common manifestations, of its nature, characteristics, and
effects in a manner which should be helpful to both the understanding
and the practice of it. Its particular aim is to encourage those who are
progressing in prayer but who are unaware of its simple and more
unitive forms". Also, it has a definition of prayer that I think is
beautiful-"“Prayer is a response, a relaxation. One must come in total
simplicity to the One whom one loves, holding oneself near Him as a small child in its mother's arms”.
It's at this site: http:// www.ourgardenofcarmel.org/ Bl_Elizabeth/ TheCharismofHerPrayer.rtf
Let me know if you decide to read it--we could share our thoughts here:)
